Grand Trunk Recalls Portable Parachute Hammocks
September 25th, 2009    Subscribe To Our FeedIn cooperation with the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (US CPSC), Travel Hammock Inc., dba Grand Trunk, of Skokie, Ill. is recalling 2500 single and double “Parachute” hammocks that were sold from July 2008 through June 2009.
It seems the hammocks’ support hooks can fail, causing an occupant to fall and become injured. Nine cases of hook failure have been reported so far.
Manufactured in Indonesia, the recalled hammocks were sold in single and double versions and packaged in a nylon sack. The Grand Trunk logo is printed on the sack. The following models and colors are included in the recall: SH-01 (Single Olive/Khaki), SH-02 (Single Blue/Navy Blue), SH-06 (Single Royal/Khaki), DH-01 (Double Olive/Khaki), DH-02 (Double Lt. Blue/Yellow), DH-03(Double Navy/Silver), DH-04 (Double Navy/Red). The model number can be located on the product’s hang tag.
