It includes all the weather-resistant hardware you need; just choose the wood you like. The DIY hammock stand holds up to 500 pounds and includes simple instructions. To build this hammock stand you’ll need wood from your local lumber supply yard; and of course, when finished, a hammock. The stand can be used indoors or outside. If you opt to use it outside, be sure to choose a weather resistant hardwood like cedar, cypress or teak. Paint or stain the wood as desired, or not!

How to Build a Hammock Arbor: Ah, Hammock Heaven!

This is a nice DIY project from the HGTV website (if I wasn’t indoors writing most of the day, I’d be out building this baby) on how to build a hammock arbor. I see no reason you couldn’t make the cross pieces wider (and perhaps use a few more) to create more living green shade for your hammock. There are also ideas and tips on companion plants and complementary landscaping. A beautiful free hammock stand plan. Now if I could just get my wireless computer network set up, I could type this blog outside in my hammock….
