Classify this as ‘odd news’ on a Friday…. An Austin, Texas newspaper reports that a young deer has been wandering the locale with an entire hammock tangled in its antlers.  Seems it may have been agitated by the object and decided to fight it, with the sad results pictured alongside the story.  As it’s a wild animal, you can’t exactly walk up and remove the hammock.  I’d vote for the risk of darting him to get the stuff off.  I really hope the hammock netting doesn’t get caught somewhere to trap him in a slow death.  When locating and hanging your outdoor hammock, you might consider this story and possible ways to minimize the likelyhood of entangling local wildlife.
