I found an interesting documentary video on YouTube about an 80 year old hammock maker in Belize. Emilo Choco claims to be the last living practitioner of the ancient Mayan art of hammock making. This short video won Best Documentary of 2005 in the Belize International Film Festival and was declared Best Cultural Feature of 2005 at the Caribbean Broadcast Union Awards. Enjoy this glimpse of the ancient art of hammock weaving. Shot with English subtitles.
